The SJSD Board of Education and district administration would like to express appreciation to all stakeholders who completed our recent stakeholder surveys. All surveys are viewed and all comments are read. There is great power in receiving such a vast amount of data. Much can be learned from the patterns and consistent themes found in the hundreds of surveys received. I wanted to reach out and let parents know that President Nygren lifted the mask mandate for schools. Starting May 9th students and employees will have the option to wear a mask. We will continue to hand out masks to students who want to wear a mask at school. Once the supply on hand is gone then we will no longer be handing out masks.

Dear Parents/Guardians: We want to hear about your experience with your student’s education. We invite you to participate in completing the Utah School Climate Survey. This survey includes questions about your student’s learning, school safety, and interpersonal relationships, as well as your attitudes about the institutional environment and your personal involvement in school. Your responses will be very helpful in improving student relationships, learning conditions, and the overall school environment. Beginning today, April 24, 2023, we invite all parents, guardians, and caretakers to complete this survey for our school. The survey is completely anonymous; it contains 33 questions. You can take the survey online by using the following unique school link: SURVEY LINK. Please submit your responses by May 5th. All your responses are completely anonymous. We have no way to connect you to your answers, and results will only be reported as group responses. There are no right or wrong answers. We just want to know about your personal experiences. Responses are housed securely in an anonymous format with The Utah State Board of Education (USBE) for evaluation research purposes. All evaluation research projects are in compliance with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act, (343 CFR 99.31 (6)) and human subjects regulations (Protection of Human Subjects 45 CFR 46). As you respond to each item, think about your own personal experiences as a parent, caregiver, or guardian at your student’s school. Please answer all of the questions. Hope Week is starting next week!

For the past 5 weeks, every Friday we have been rewarding students for their perfect attendance with popcorn. Starting Friday, April 14, 2023 till school ends, we will also draw names of 5 students with perfect attendance to get prizes. Thank you parents for doing an awesome job of having your child at school, on time and being at school everyday! Your child's attendance is important.

No school March 13th - 17th. 4th Quarter begins March 20 at 8:15am. Have a great break.

In an abundance of caution and concern for staff and student safety, San Juan School District is designating a “Late Start” on Wednesday, March 1st for all schools in the district. A “Late Start” means schools will begin at 10AM for all students. For bus students, all buses will arrive 2 hours later than the regularly scheduled time. The storm is forecasted to be in the county for multiple days, so we strongly encourage all stakeholders to frequently monitor the school/district webpage and App for any updates as things progress. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Am preschool will be canceled. The pm preschool will be picked up at the normal time.

The lockout is over. We are resuming normal day schedule.

Due to the weather MZC and WHS will have a late start tomorrow Tuesday, January 17th. School will start at 10:00 am. Buses will arrive at bus stops 2 hours later than usual pick up time. Am preschool will be canceled.

School Community Council Meeting Tuesday, January 17th at 5:30. Please attend to help create our plan for next year. You can call in or join though the google meet link in the picture below.

No school on January 16th due to Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Parents please make sure that your students are attending school daily and on time. We have important mid-year testing going on over the next couple of weeks.

The electricity is back on at Montezuma Creek Elementary. School will start Wednesday, January 4th at 8:20.

MZC Power Outage Update: Power has been restored to MZC Elementary School. School will resume tomorrow at regularly scheduled times. Thank you for your patience as we worked through this frustrating issue. We are excited to see our students tomorrow!
